Tyr Hurricane Cat 2
Designed to provide elite performance, the Hurricane wetsuit is an ideal choice for high level racings
For years, athletes have chosen the Hurricane wetsuit series for its unbeatable quality, fit and performance. Tyr has now remodeled the line to maximize performance even further while specifically catering to various levels of competition. Each suit is strategically engineered to enhance your buoyancy, acceleration and overall power in the water.
At Tyr Sport believe that having the best wetsuit begins with having the best fabrication. As a result, every Cat 2 Hurricane is constructed with 100% 39 Cell Yamamoto neoprene. In addition, the process of Super Composite Skin (SCS) Nano Coating is used alongside the fabrication to enhance comfort and freedom of movement. With both hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties, SCS repels water, ensures high heat retention for decreased body fatigue and boasts incredible durability to prevent abrasions and increase product life. Rather than a standard seam construction, each Cat 2 also utilizes speed wrap paneling to comfortably hug and hold you in.
Next, strategically placed elevation panels are employed to establish proper body positioning relative to the water’s surface, while graded catch panels on the forearms of the suit provide a catch-and-pull stroke similar to having a built-in paddle. When working in conjunction with form-fitting wrist cuffs, the result is maximized power strokes without any water intake.
Each and every Hurricane wetsuit also includes quick release ankle cuffs and state-of-the-art range of motion zones.
All Tyr Hurricane wetsuits are WTC (Ironman) / USAT legal.
Alpha catch panels
Panels are strategically engineered on the forearm to allow for a maximized catch-and-release stroke. An insulated, thinner layer lies underneath to allow a feel for the water.
3 elevation panels
Advanced panels elevate the swimmer and ensure optimal body positioning and maximum buoyancy and speed. Muscle groups are specifically targeted for core stabilization and long-term preservation of core strength.
Form-fitting quick -release ankle/wrist cuffs
Form-fitting wrist and ankle cuffs allow powerful strokes and kicks, while preventing water from entering the suit. An upgraded triangular wrist design with greater elasticity allows for an even quicker and easier removal to keep you ahead of the pack during T1.
Speed wrap paneling and Free R.O.M. zones
Neoprene panels wrap and curve around entire leg, chest and core area to give you the feeling of a second skin, while maximizing body position and minimizing drag. To further achieve the second range of motion zones eliminate constrictions, allowing the swimmer to achieve a long reach without straining shoulders.
Advanced fabric
First up? The triathlon world’s most premier wetsuit fabrication: Yamamoto neoprene. Specifically employed for triathletes that are elite level swimmers, Yamamoto is used to drastically reduce restriction on the body, creating the feeling of a second skin with ultimate flexibility, while the built-in Nano-SCS coating provides a sleek swim and an ultra low drag coefficient.
